Ten of us marched from the State Capital in Madison, down State Street to UW Memorial Union. The mile walk was pleasant and the 30 degree temperature with the mild wind, combined to make the walk invigorating as well. We sang "Happy Birthday" to Charles Darwin and chanted "What do we want?! Evolution!" People were very receptive to the pamphlets -- 100 of them were handed out. At the University, we stopped in the Memorial Union to warm up with beer, pop, and popcorn. . ..
The woman in the hat briefly joined us -- it was her birthday too. All in all, the event was deemed
a success!
On the way back up State Street, a few of us made the short pilgrimage over to the Freedom From Religion Foundation's Freethought Hall. ![]() |
