AAI Freethought Audio Library

The AAI Freethought Audio Library is a collection of audio recordings of historical and classical freethought books, articles, and other publications. AAI began the project in 2009 to make important freethought classic works available to audiences who prefer podcasts to traditional books and other print media.  The following titles are available:

Robert Ingersoll's What I Want for Christmas has been made available to illustrate the contents of the Freethought Audio Library, but other recordings are available only through the AAI website (under the 'Resources' menu, only visible when logged in as an AAI Member), as a benefit of AAI Membership. 

This project is proceeding as volunteers donate their time.   Recordings are made by AAI volunteers who have a computer, a good microphone, audio recording software and a good speaking voice.  The reading choices are taken from the Historical Freethought Documents Library maintained on-line by the Internet Infidels.

At the moment, all of the recordings are in English. However, it would be fantastic to include translated recordings as well as recordings of freethought classics from non-English sources.

If you would like to participate in this project, we ask you to submit a sample recording in order to gauge quality and resonance. We would recommend that you go to the Historical Freethought Documents Library and make a recording of the first two paragraphs of any article of your choice.    (Free, good-quality audio recording software can be found on the Internet. We've had good experience with Audacity.exe.) The file should be saved in .MP3, .MP4, or .WMV format.
