New Atheist Alliance International Launched in Dublin, Ireland on 3 June 2011

Atheist Alliance International (“AAI”), a global network of atheist and freethought organisations, launched today as prominent atheists, including British biologist Professor Richard Dawkins and Danish science writer Dr Lone Frank, gathered at the World Atheist Convention in Dublin, Ireland.

With membership comprising 19 atheist/freethought groups plus individuals from Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia, Atheist Alliance International will:

• Strengthen co-operation between atheist and freethought organisations around the world;

• Support the establishment of new atheist/freethought organisations, particularly in developing countries;

• Publish Secular World magazine, with Atheist Alliance of America;

• Co-host atheist conventions, continuing the success of international events in Australia (2010), Denmark (2010) and Ireland (2011); and

• Act as an atheist spokesperson on relevant international matters.

The new board of Atheist Alliance International was elected today and is comprised of thirteen members from around the world, reflecting the diversity of Atheist Alliance International’s membership and its global activities.

Tanya Smith, an investment banker from Melbourne, Australia, has been elected as the President of Atheist Alliance International.  Tanya said, “Atheist Alliance International will be a positive global voice for atheism and secularism.  The new board is excited about opportunities to support and promote freethought around the world - particularly in relation to the separation of religion and government and assisting new atheist organisations in developing countries, where atheists often face persecution and discrimination.”

The launch of new Atheist Alliance International is part of the process to separate the former Atheist Alliance International into its US and international components.  The US component has been re-named Atheist Alliance of America and will be launched at a convention in Houston, Texas, in October 2011. Nick Lee, President of Atheist Alliance of America said, “I am confident that the new Atheist Alliance International will be a great success and look forward to a co-operative relationship between Atheist Alliance International and Atheist Alliance of America.”

La Alianza Atea Internacional, o Atheist Alliance International (“AAI”), una red global de organizaciones ateas y promotoras del librepensamiento, fue lanzada hoy en la Convención Global de Ateos en Dublín, Irlanda, en la que se reunieron prominentes ateos como el biólogo británico Profesor Richard Dawkins y el escritor sobre ciencia danés, Dr. Lone Frank.

Con 19 asociaciones de ateos/librepensadores miembro así como individuos de Europa, Norteamérica, Sudamérica, África, Asia y Oceanía, la Alianza Atea Internacional:

• Facilitará el flujo de información y cooperación entre organizaciones ateas y librepensadoras en todo el mundo;
• Fomentará el establecimiento de nuevas organizaciones ateas/librepensadoras, particularmente en países en vías de desarrollo;
• Publicará la revista Secular World, en coordinación con la Atheist Alliance of America;

A Aliança Internacional de Ateus, ou Atheist Alliance International (“AAI”), uma rede global de organizações ateas e promotoras do livrepensamento, foi lançada hoje na Convenção Global de Ateus  em Dublin, Irlanda, onde se encontraram prominentes ateus como o biólogo Britânico Professor Richard Dawkins e o escritor de ciência Dinamarquês, Dr. Lone Frank.

Com 19 associações de ateus/livrepensadores membros bem que indivíduos da Europa, América do Norte, América do Sul, África, Ásia e Oceania, a Aliança Internacional de Ateus:

• Vai facilitar o fluxo de informações e a cooperação entre organizações ateas e livrepensadoras no mundo tudo;
• Incentivará a criação de novas organizações ateas/livrepensadoras, particularmente nos países em desemvolvimento;
• Publicará o magazine Secular World, em coordenação com a Atheist Alliance of America;
• Vai ser co-anfitrião de convenções ateas, dando continuidade ao sucesso dos eventos internacionais na Austrália (2010), Dinamarca (2010) e Irlanda (2011); e
• Vai atuar como um porta-voz do ateísmo e dos ateus em importantes assuntos internacionais.

O novo Conselho Direitivo da Aliança Internacional de Ateus foi eleito e é composto por treze membros do mundo tudo, refletindo a diversidade dos membros da AAI e de suas atividades globales.

Tanya Smith, uma banqueira de inversões de Melbourne, Australia, foi eleita Presidente da Aliança Internacional de Ateus. O  lançamento da nova Aliança Internacional de Ateus é parte de um processo para dividir a antiga Aliança Ateia Internacional em duas, uma pelos Estados Unidos e uma internacional.  O grupo dos Estados Unidos sera chamado Atheist Alliance of America e anunciado numa convençao em Houston, Texas, em outobro de 2011.

Atheist Alliance International („AAI“), ein globales Netzwerk atheistischer und freigeistiger Organisationen, wurde heute auf der Atheistischen Weltkonferenz in Dublin, Irland gegründet, an der prominente Atheisten wie die dänische Wissenschaftsautorin Dr. Lone Frank und der britische Biologieprofessor Richard Dawkins teilnehmen.

Mit einer Mitgliedschaft, die 19 atheistische/freigeistige Organisationen sowie Einzelpersonen aus Europa, Nordamerika, Südamerika, Afrika, Asien und Australien umfasst, wird die Atheist Alliance International:

• ñ die Zusammenarbeit zwischen atheistischen und freigeistigen Organisationen weltweit stärken,
• ñ die Gründung neuer atheistischer/freigeistiger Organisationen unterstützen, insbesondere in Entwicklungsländern,
• ñ das Magazin Secular World herausgeben, gemeinsam mit Atheist Alliance of America,
• ñ atheistische Konferenzen mitveranstalten und damit den Erfolg der internationalen Events in Australien (2010), Dänemark (2010) und Irland (2011) fortsetzen,

Das neue Board der Atheist Alliance International wurde heute gewählt und besteht aus dreizehn Mitgliedern aus aller Welt, was die Vielfalt der Mitgliedschaft der Atheist Alliance International und ihrer globalen Aktivitäten widerspiegelt.

Tanya Smith, Investmentbankerin aus Melbourne, Australien, wurde zur Präsidentin der Atheist Alliance International gewählt. Tanya sagte: „Atheist Alliance International wird eine positive globale Stimme für Atheismus und Säkularismus sein. Die Gründung der neuen Atheist Alliance International ist Teil eines Aufteilungsprozesses der ehemaligen Atheist Alliance International in seine US-amerikanischen und internationalen Teile. Der US-amerikanische Teil wurde in Atheist Alliance of America umbenannt und wird sich auf einer Konferenz im Oktober in Houson, Texas, der Öffentlichkeit vorstellen.

Atheist Alliance International (AAI), een wereldwijd netwerk van atheïst en vrijdenker organisaties, is
vandaag gelanceerd, waarbij prominente atheïsten, met inbegrip van de Britse bioloog professor Richard Dawkins en Deense wetenschapsjournalist Dr. Lone Frank, zich verzamelden in de World Atheist Conventie in Dublin, Ierland.

Met een lidmaatschap bestaande uit 19 atheïstische / vrijdenken groepen en individuen uit Europa, Noord- en Zuid Amerika, Afrika, Azië en Australië, de Atheist Alliance International zal:

• De samenwerking tussen de atheïst en vrijdenker organisaties over de hele wereld versterken;

• De oprichting ondersteunen van nieuwe atheïstische / vrijdenker organisaties, met name in ontwikkelingslanden;

Tanya: "Atheist Alliance International zal een positieve spreekbuis zijn voor atheisme en secularisme. Het nieuwe bestuur is opgetogen over mogelijkheden om vrijdenken wereldwijd te bevorderen – vooral in relatie tot scheiding van religie en staat, het ondersteunen van atheist organisaties in ontwikkelingslanden, waar atheisten vaak te maken hebben met vervolging en discriminatie”.

De lancering van het nieuwe Atheist Alliance International is onderdeel van een proces waarin de oude Athist Alliance International zich splits in een component van de Verenigde Staten en een internationale component. De Verenigde Staten component heet nu Atheist Alliance of America en zal worden gelanceerd op een congres in Houston, Texas, in Oktober 2011.
