Atheist Alliance International actively campaigns for freedom of choice around the world, including the right every person should have to choose their own religion or none at all. AAI strongly condemns the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Xinjiang, as reports continue to emerge that the Chinese government is actively and deliberately attempting to exterminate the Uighur culture through forced internment and other flagrant human rights violations. While AAI is opposed to Muslim extremism and anti-blasphemy laws in Islamic republics, it equally supports the rights of all Muslims to freely choose to follow their religion. AAI, through our special observer status at the United Nations, calls on all governments to condemn this tragedy and take active measures to stop the cultural genocide.
